Multiple copies of a print job from a UNIX system

If you've got NT print servers and you're still running Service Pack 4, you might be running into a situation in which specifying multiple copies of a print job from a UNIX system will still only get you one copy.

There are two ways to fix this—one quick, the other not so quick. The fastest way to do this is to upgrade your service pack. However, many of us are reluctant to jump on the SP bandwagon, particularly if everything else is running well. If you opt not to upgrade your service pack, here's a fix for those multiple copies.

When printing using the lpr command, simply include the control characters "K" or "#" as below:

   lpr -Pprintername -#2 file name

This will get you two printed copies of your print job.
