Deleting a canceled print job from the queue

If you try to delete a job that was stuck in the print queue, there is a possibility that the job status will show as Deleting but never clear the queue. The problem is that the printer spooler is hung. The fix is simple:

  1. Close the printer folder.
  2. Stop the spooler service (through the Services control panel or NET STOP SPOOLER).
  3. Restart the spooler service.

The job will now be deleted from the print queue.
