Terminal Services Advanced Client

Microsoft's Terminal Services Advanced Client (TSAC) is a group of updates to the Terminal Services that ships with all versions of Windows 2000 Server. TSAC includes three new tools:

  • The TSAC Web Package is an ActiveX control that provides almost the same functionality within Internet Explorer as stand-alone Terminal Services Client software provides. This control allows you to access the Terminal Services server from within your Web browser without installing any special client software. You need a server running Internet Information Services 4 or later to use this control.
  • The Terminal Services Connections Microsoft Management Console Snap-in is a special snap-in that lets you host multiple Terminal Services connections in one MMC console. This way you can access many servers from one central location.
  • The Terminal Services Full Client Windows Installer (MSI) Package is a normal .MSI package that you can use for software deployment through Group Policy. You can use this package to deploy the full Terminal Services Client to your users and computers like any other application.
